"Be Bold- Cancer Is The Best Thing That Has Happened To Me"
Dr. Deepa Halaharvi, a fellowship trained and nationally recognized breast cancer surgeon from Columbus, Ohio who is also a breast cancer survivor, will be speaking on "Breast Cancer: Screening, Detection, Diagnosis and Treatment" at the St. James Community Center on Saturday, February 29th from 10 am-12 noon. (This is a FREE presentation that is open to the public. A complimentary lunch will be provided by "Cafe' Koa".)
Dr. Halaharvi is part of a national campaign for informing breast cancer patients that they have a say in which treatment is best for them. She has been on "The Today Show" and many other national and local radio and television programs, as well as print interviews. She was honored in 2017 with the "Hero of Hope" award by the Ohio Division of the American Cancer Society. She has lectured at medical school commencements, and has spoken to dozens of different groups of medical students and breast cancer survivors, as well as employees of several Fortune 500 Companies. Dr. Halaharvi has co-authored papers and book chapters on breast cancer related topics, and is very involved in several breast cancer research projects.
